Tom, a graduate of UCD and Reading University, began his career as a Tropical Agriculturalist
in Kenya. He has gained extensive experience in Tanzania, Democratic Republic of the Congo,
Sudan, Uganda, United States of America, Mexico, Ecuador, Serbia, and Kosovo. His
speciality was dryland agriculture with soil & water conservation. After many years as an NGO employee, a researcher in American Universities, and an international development consultant, he became interested in the people working within organisations, their languages, and culture.
Tom speaks several languages including Spanish and Ki-Swahili. To develop these interests further, Tom studied organisational psychology at the University of Limerick. He is a Chartered Organisational Psychologist with Psychological Society of Ireland and full member of the Division of the Work and Organisational Psychology and a board member of the Coaching Psychology Special Interest Group. He is certified in Psychological First Aid, Mediation, Conflict Resolution, Train the Trainer and Psychometric Testing (Levels
A & B by the British Psychological Society).
Tom is very competent in project management, cultural analysis and psychological safety. He
trades as Mandeleo and is Founder and Secretary of Psychology at Work CLG.
